Ingredients

  • Marzipan / marzipan paste – 100 g
  • Butter 100g
  • Powdered sugar – 70 g
  • Egg yolk – 1 piece
  • Mampfmandeln – 100 g
  • Flour – 100 g
  • Baking powder – 1 pinch
  • Rum – 1 splash
  • Some flour for rolling out

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Break the marzipan into small pieces in a bowl using a fork and mash it.
  2. Beat the butter and powdered sugar with a hand mixer until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg yolk, ground almonds, and mashed marzipan. Gradually knead in the flour and baking powder. Add rum if desired.
  4. Mix everything into a smooth dough.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut out cookies, and place them on the tray.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (top/bottom heat) for 10–15 minutes.

Tipp:

The cookies can be beautifully decorated, for example with chocolate or powdered sugar. Stored in an airtight container, they stay fresh for several days.
